We are currently performing critical updates and maintenance to enhance and increase the security and reliability of the FMCSA Registration Options website. Once completed, please upload the form along with the required supporting evidence for updating a company's registration record to the FMCSA Contact Center by using the Ask FMCSA Page, https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration/ask-fmcsa, or fax to (202) 266-3477. Mailing application forms to FMCSA may delay the process. Please visit https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration/registration-alerts#Evidence for a list of supporting evidence that is required to process the paper form.

In addition, all insurance companies, financial institutions, and Form BOC-3 Blanket Agents will be required to access their Licensing and Insurance (L&I) Public e-filer account via the FMCSA Portal using Login.gov. For details, please visit the Insurance Filing Requirements website, https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration/insurance-filing-requirements, for additional details.

For those initially registering for your FMCSA Portal account, you will need a USDOT Personal Identification Number (PIN), Click here to request your USDOT PIN. Allow 7 to 10 business days to receive your PIN by mail.

Registration Options

Welcome to the online site for making sure that your Motor Carrier operation (truck and passenger carrier) is properly registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Whether you need to register with us or make an update to an existing record, this site will help you get the job done.

All electronic transactions will require a valid credit card (American Express, Discover, Master Card, Visa.)

New or Additional Registration
	I think I need to register with the FMCSA to get a NEW USDOT number, Operating Authority (MC/FF/MX number), or CT number (Cargo Tank Facility). (If you don't have USDOT number, select this option, then "Continue" and the system will let you know).
	I need an additional Operating Authority to my existing USDOT number, (If you already have USDOT number, and apply additional operating authority, then "Continue").

Continue Filling Out Registration
	Use your registration tracking number and tracking identifier to continue filling in your registration (update Operating Authority (MC/FF/MX number)).

Existing Registration Updates
	I need to update my USDOT number registration information or file my biennial update(MCS-150).
	I need to update my MCS-150B / HM Safety Permit.
	I want to apply for a transfer of my Operating Authority (MC/FF/MX number) - FMCSA has changed its approach to processing transfers of authority. For information on the new transfer process, Click Here

I need to update my Operating Authority (MC/FF/MX number) registration information by
	a. Filing a name change - FMCSA has changed its submission process for name change requests. For information on the new submission process, Click Here
	b. Filing a change of address.
I was registered with the FMCSA and now want to restart my business by:
	a. Reapplying for a USDOT number after revocation
	b. Requesting that my Operating Authority (MC/FF/MX number) be reinstated
	I want to update my Cargo Tank Facility registration statement information.
I want to notify the FMCSA that I am no longer in business
